Hello! We are 5 fifth graders named Kirigin, Karen, Liam, Claire, and Tasuku. We are focused on tackling plastic. We are from California, and wanted to make an impact in our state on the plastic pollution problem by encouraging both kids and adults to skip plastic straws and plastic bags. You might say it’s only one plastic straw or bag, what’s the big deal? But because so many people think like this, it’s damaging our Earth in so many ways. Did you know that plastic straws can’t be recycled easily and they don’t biodegrade? Also, in America, the amount of straws we use is enough to fill more than 125 school buses every day! Why use a plastic bag when there are so many reusable ones?

So help make it one less, be the difference. When you sign this petition you will make an effort to skip the plastic straw and bag, and the tell 3 more people to do the same. Help make our environment clean and plastic debris free.  If we don't stop this problem, soon we will be outnumbered by plastic. We need to think small and get bigger. We all need to start somewhere, why not here, why not now? So SKIP IT WITH ME, AND THEN TELL 3!
