Change the paradigm. More than ever, candidates for Plantation City counsel, like Rob Koreman, Jennifer Andreu and Siobhan Edwards, understand that a new template is needed to manage runaway growth which has resulted an explosion of untenable rental apartment units along the University Drive corridor seeping into Cleary Blvd and Pine Island Road and resulting in even more traffic woes for all of us! Those of us who are now waking up to the positive impact social media can leverage to combine all of our voices into a powerful voting block may be unaware that there exists, in the lowest and darkest corners, certain interests whose goal is to stifle your voice. See Rob Koreman's recent blog on censorship in local Plantation social media circles in the attached article. Don't be confused or misled. Interests such as those who would otherwise railroad a toxic 110 unit row barracks style townhome project through city hall without your consideration in mind will seek to exploit the same shameful dark corners of social media that Mr. Koreman seeks to shine a light on. Instead of throwing your hands up at this nefariousness, hold your elected officials (and those running for office) accountable. Make certain they sign off to the Smart Development in Plantation commitment which is to adhere to the underlying land use plan when considering applications such as that filed by the BCSB and send a message that if the price of land is not set at a rate reasonably comparable to the underlying density, then the City (and its taxpayers) should not be seen as a bailout opportunity. Each of your property rights are at stake here!
Anything else is just utter empty talk or misleading social media posts. Don't fall for it.
