Historically, in Plantation, two of the rubber stamps a barracks style row townhome developer might count upon are Ron Jacobs and Nick Sortal. Both are affable and decent people. You might like both as genuine people. We do. The problem lies in their past actions: Namely each have rubber stamped projects Bill Laystrom lobbied through the City. Mill Creek apartments is a prime example. Nice rental project, wrong site. Despite the objections by the surrounding residential neighbors in Turtle Run, the council issued another rubber stamp on an overly dense project crowded into a site zoned for office, not residential. The result is more traffic gridlock on an already overcrowded road. Ron Jacobs sent a recent social media message announcing his candidacy. He touts his 25 years experience as a City Councilperson and cites as a chief reason for providing support for this election: Traffic. (see below). We can only comment that if you want more gridlock, more overly dense housing projects, more burden on your already overwrought infrastructure, then you might consider Picking Nick or Voting for Ron. If not, why not support Jennifer Andreu and Rob Koreman's candidacies. Both Jennifer Andreu and Rob are firmly committed to adopt a smart and mindful approach to development. They don't have a 25 year track record of supporting overly dense development like Ron does. Rather, they will actually DO something to alleviate the traffic problems.
Talk is cheap.
Actions speak.
