Plant More Trees in Iloilo City!

The Issue

Iloilo City is located in the middle on the southeast coast of Panay Island, as well as in the middle of the archipelago. It is one of the biggest centers in the Philippines also known as "The Heart of the Philippines", as well as the "City of Love".

Iloilo City is facing several environmental challenges, including urban heat, air pollution, and loss of green spaces. The rapid urbanization and industrialization in recent years have led to a decline in the city's tree cover, adversely affecting the local ecosystem and community health.

We, the concerned citizens of Iloilo, are advocating for a significant increase in tree-planting efforts throughout our city. This petition aims to advocate for the increased planting of trees in Iloilo City to enhance environmental sustainability, combat climate change, and improve the quality of life for residents. This petition urges local government representatives, civic leaders, and citizens to support extensive tree-planting programs with the following reasons:

  • Reduces Climate Change
  • Purifies Air
  • Cools down the streets
  • Natural Air Conditioning
  • Saves Water
  • Prevents Water Pollution
  • Provides Shelter for Wildlife
  • Prevents Flood
  • Reinforces Soil and Erosion control

Why your Signature Matters!

We aim to encourage for an increased number of trees planted. Our goal in Iloilo City is to plant a large number of robust native trees to help shield the city from the effects of climate change. Considering the long term: Resolving this issue now will ensure that the city is habitable for future generations. From far-off rainforests to the scenery just outside our door, we want everyone to be able to relate to and appreciate the value of trees and woodlands in our lives. We are enabling people to take up the struggle against climate change on their own by collaborating with communities and schools.

Our goal is to obtain your support for this cause. So, join us! As we make a difference in combating climate change within our beloved city.
