Plant Green Barrier Along Rizal Roads to Beat the Concrete Heat!

Plant Green Barrier Along Rizal Roads to Beat the Concrete Heat!
The Issue
I know residents of Rizal Kalinga feel the same about the issue of the extreme temperature in walking or driving along Rizal roads, as a student also I am affected by this everyday circumstance because I often go home at noon to have lunch with my family, or to buy school supplies at Babalag market. Nowadays few are just walking to go to their desired destination or even using a bike as a means of transportation mainly because of the scorching heat produced by these concrete roads.
By planting green barriers or putting vegetation alongside these roads, we can reduce the risk caused by it. Not only it will absorb the carbon dioxide released by the concrete, but also give shade to all the residents who are making use of these roads. If we just leave the issue as it is, it will have a greater impact not just on the residents but also on the environment, like making outdoor activities uncomfortable leading to serious health risks, especially to vulnerable residents such as children, students, and elderly. Moreover, it will have an impact on a wider extent like global warming and climate change.
Now is the opportunity to act on this issue because the climate is in constant change—making the hot season hotter. The need of nature approach solution is a must in mitigating heat-related challenges. By implementing a green barrier along Rizal roads, we can address this issue head-on, creating a cooler and more sustainable environment for current and future generations.
