LTD's claim: In its March 2020 edition of "Bus Talk," LTD tells the public that Transit Tomorrow "increases access across the various segments of the community."
What the facts are: There are 18,000 people in the Eugene metro area who currently have bus access who will no longer have any access under the proposed plan. It will hit the elderly, low-income, the disabled, and people of color the hardest, according to LTD’s very own estimates. It is a fact that some bus-only residents will be forced to move if the plan goes into place -- only 13% of LTD's bus riders have a driver's license AND access to a car. The plan does provide 85,000 additional people access to wait times of 15 minutes versus their current 30 minute service. (Source: transittomorrow.org).
