Stop houses being built by our Barr Beacon and Forest Of Mercia - WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT

The Issue

On the 4/2/16 the planning committee heard the planning application for 14/1552/FL, despite Cllr Mike Birds very harsh feeling on this build (considering its in his area that willaffected many local people and the area) THANKFULLY the council refused it when it went to vote on the grounds of "

That planning application number 14/1552/FL be refused because it has a worse impact on the openness of the Green Belt than the existing stables because of the proposed residential use, the proposed residential use would be visible from Barr Beacon and does not fit in 4 ith the view expected from Barr Beacon and the Great Barr conservation Area.

SADLY now the land owners have amended plans which look like they have added more trees to try and shelter the views and the council will be re-sending it to another planning committee.

We needs all local resident to please back the objections to the reject the amended plans as extra trees don't stop the rejection point of "worse impact on the openness of the green belt area.

If they get the planning there is lots of fields along the Beacon road which will also be able to get planning permission for houses, there will be no protection for the Barr Beacon area!!

On the 04/02/2016 Walsall council are hearing at their planning committee application number 14/1552/FL A property company want to build 4 very large bungalows on the Beacon Road which the site is surrounded in green belt land and The Forset Of Mercia would run right behind where the houses would be build. There is a vast amount of wildlife around there, pairing falcons regularly are spotted along with other animals which wouldn't return if homes are built. The famous Barr Beacon is just up the road, we need to do all we can to stop homes being built on our lovely countryside. Barr Beacon is a lovely place If you fancy getting away from it all, Barr Beacon might be just the nature reserve for you.  Its only 3 miles from Walsall town centre, and its one of the highest points in the West Midlands.  It offers spectacular panoramic views, and from the top you can see surrounding landmarks including the Wrekin, Cannock Chase, Lichfield Cathedral, Birmingham City Centre, and the Lickey Hills.  Its the high-point of the Beacon Way and a favourite walking spot for locals. Building not far from here is going to open up a huge issue for local residents and the nature around. Please help us stop it

I am opposed to this development in my ward, Pheasey Park Farm. I have tried to register to speak against the application at the Planning Committee but two others have already registered. It would have been helpful for the organisers to contact Pheasey Park Farm Ward elected members directly as this does not seem to have happened, contact would still be helpful. Cllr Bird and Cllr Douglas-Maul are on the Planning Committee and will not express an opinion until the meeting which will now take place in February.
