The Issue

This is happening in our neighborhood, keep this from happening in yours.

The purpose of the R-3 residential zone is being ignored. "The R3 zone is to provide for medium-density residential development characterized by single-family homes on individual lots and also to provide for planned residential unit developments on substantially sized parcels. Such development(s) shall respond to the physical qualities of a site and complement the scale, character and style of the surrounding neighborhood."

A moratorium on decisions of the Planning Board, pending as of November 1, 2020 regarding pending new institutional, conditional uses in the R-3 Zone, for a period of 180-days to allow for time to review and consider the existing general and specific conditional use standards of the old and new City Land Use Code and develop "meaningful standards" for the review and approval of new institutional conditional uses in the R-3 Zone, and also review and consider consistency of those "meaningful standards" with site plan requirements, the City Comprehensive Plan and other City Code for the purpose of protecting applicant's property interests, neighborhoods, and the public at-large from serious harm caused by the lack of "meaningful standards" for approval of new institutional conditional uses in the R-3 Zone.

As a Portland resident, I ask that you remain mindful of our cities best interests and help us take meaningful action in sustaining our community by showing support with a virtual signature.
