Salem has the YMCA and Anytime Fitness. They are both tiny and crowded. Anytime Fitness is for rich people. The cost to get started and keep up with is terrible. I want a personal trainer but I can't afford the cost of all of it. I have been researching Planet Fitness and I believe it is exactly what is needed here in Salem. A lot of people would utilize it. We shouldn't have to pay a ton of money for a crappy experience in a tiny gym with ancient equipment. Not to mention, for those of us who are new to strength training, it would be nice to know exactly what we are doing. I did a tour at the YMCA and it was awful. There is no one there to show you what to do and it's so tiny that you have to wait your turn to use anything. The Planet Fitness website shows that all equipment has something to scan to show you exactly how to use it. It also says on the website that the cost monthly is as low as $10 a month but only like $23 a month for the full experience. FREE personal training... Not cheap but FREE! I know a lot of people would want a membership just for that reason alone. Salem is growing and I know there are plenty of great spaces available where a gym could go. There is a lot for sale right down the street from my house that would be perfect! Please Anytime Fitness... Come to Salem!
