The Issue

NY state currently has 133-148 active running Data centers. While 53 of them are within NYC area the remainder is scattered entirely across different counties of the state. It is so important for us as people to show up and get any further ones permanently banned from this state. No more should be built. Don’t vote for Kathy Hochul this year either. Just because she does one good thing doesn’t justify all the other corrupt shit she’s done. I had the pleasure of speaking at Otter lake firehouse last night against data centers in the town of forestport and Adirondack park. There was 75 people there. Mostly Everyone in that room was against it.

The Adirondack park has 6.1 million acre territory. In case nobody knew the facts in 1894 it was put into the NYS constitution article 14 the Adirondack park is FOREVER WILD and cannot be sold to any corporation if you read all 6 chapters of that article of the New York State constitution you will see more detailed information. The Adirondacks are home to 3,000 lakes, 42 peaks that are over 4,000 feet tall. And also 30,000 miles of rivers and streams Of fresh conserved water. The Adirondack park is home to 53 mammals, 66 species of fish, 35 reptiles, and thousands of insects.

The endangered animals currently living in the Adirondack park include :
- Indiana bats
- grouse
- round white fish
- owls
- peregrine falcon
- bald eagles

Endangered trees in the Adirondacks include
- hemlock
- ash trees
- red spruce
- sugar maple
- cedar
- beech tree
- black cherry
- mountain maple
- yellow birch

And many more.

Not to mention moose have made their way into the Adirondacks a lot more often now as well. Though they are not listed as endangered they still need to be protected.

One data center can be the equivalent to 4 football fields. That is 224 ACRES. Per data center and even more on some of the larger scale ones.

In case nobody was aware the data centers are the gateway to AGI. Which is what allows the computer to possess the same thinking patterns as a human being. Which is basically what chat GPT can already do.

Negatives of the data centers

- higher electric output - increased usage - higher bills for us.
- the PFAS which are labeled as “forever chemicals” can seep their way into the dirt and our drinking water and permanently contaminate it.
- the sound waves emitted from data centers is over 90 decibels which can cause hearing loss, insomnia, stress. In animals as well as people.
-these centers emit so much gas into the air and release nitrogen oxide which when inhaled causes shortness of breath , cough, COPD, acid rain, algae blooms in the water which we can’t swim in. And deplete oxygen for the fish and depletes our oxygen.

Please please if I make a petition I want eveyone in this state to sign it. And I will bring it directly to the governor or the government and we will put a permanent ban on any data centers in NY state indefinitely.

I urge New York State legislators and environmental agencies to take immediate action. By placing a permanent ban on the construction of AI data centers and solar fields in the Adirondack Park, we can make a necessary commitment to protect and preserve this irreplaceable natural resource. Take a stand for the Adirondacks and help secure its future as a pristine wilderness. Sign this petition to voice your support for a sustainable future that honors and safeguards the natural wonders of New York State.
