Calling all boaters

Just an FYI for all the boaters out there.

The Pinellas County Commission voted on May 19th 5-2 (Dave Eggers and Kathleen Peters voted against) to close a large part of the Bunces Pass area to all boaters, including paddle boards and kayaks! �

The North area (drawn in green) boats can still “beach” and anchor off.

West Area (drawn in yellow) will now be a designated swim area, boats can anchor 100-150ish yards off (outside the to be added swim area markers).

The entire inner lagoon will be closed to ALL watercraft, boats and paddle sports.

ALL of the islands off of the St. Pete coast have now been restricted in some way or another to boaters!! This is enough!!

The fact that they held this meeting during a shutdown made it nearly impossible for citizens to voice their opinions!!
