PETITION TO STOP ABUSE AT PIKE COUNTY DOG POUND & JUSTICE FOR MOTHER & PUPPIES KILLED INCLUDING THE FIRING OF DOG WARDEN

We need to educate the people who live in Pike County as well.  The people vote for  the Commissioners who oversee the warden. If we can expose them as the heartless & uncaring individuals who are doing nothing to prevent disgusting crimes likes this from happening under their 'watch' then hopefully they too can be replaced,

The Dog Warden of Pike County, Randy Mustard is facing cruelty charges after recent horrific events were reported at the small rural pound in Waverly Ohio.

The Pike County Pound took in a mother dog and her very young 11 puppies. Dog Warden Mustard decided that there was not enough room for them so he decided to euthanize them. A volunteer at the pound states that warden Mustard never actually euthanized the animals but instead ordered the volunteer to place them in a bag. Warden Mustard and his assistant gave the mother dog the death shot but shoved all the puppies into a trash bag ALIVE and dumped them along the side of the road next to the pound! A person coming to retrieve her dog from the pound heard the puppies crying and drove them straight to to sheriff's office. Can you imagine suffocating inside of a garbage bag with your dead mother and siblings possibly dying from euthanasia! They were only 2-3 weeks old babies and the dog warden is still claiming he did nothing wrong! So he will obviously do it again if given the chance and his only punishment if convicted is being fired!

I work with a rescue in Columbus but we are full. We do not have a shelter and only use foster homes. If you are as disgusted as I am & live in Ohio PLEASE think about fostering one of the dogs from Pike County or a small dog from a local kill shelter through us. People can go to the Pike County Dog Pound website and find a dog you would be willing to help or email the rescue your size/age requirements. We are willing to go and pay to pull as many dogs IF we can find good foster homes for. All we need are the homes. The rescue has agreed to vet all the dogs we save as the pound does not even vet the dogs. The pound is only 1hr away from downtown Columbus so anyone who can go adopt a dog PLEASE DO. If you adopt straight from the Pike County Dog Pound in Waverly, OH it is only $28!

We  have been told it is widely known that the dogs at this pound are very mistreated. They stand around in thick piles excrement and mud chained to outdoor dog kennels. When they do hose out the indoor kennels they do not take the dogs out first,. they just pelt the terrified dogs with water. A volunteer for Pike County also stated that although the volunteers take the short hair dogs inside in this cold weather, when they leave for the night POUND WORKERS PUT THE DOGS BACK OUTSIDE TO FREEZE! The volunteers try as hard as they can to help but workers make it almost impossible.
