I am creating this petition out of concern for the future of Pickens County, South Carolina schools. In recent months, plans have been made that may close a total of 3-4 schools in the county. Those schools are Ambler Elem., Holly Springs Elem., A.R. Lewis Elem., and recently Dacusville Middle. That would cause numerous problems, including, but not limited to substantially longer bus rides for the students. This would undoubtedly result in an impacted learning environment. The School Board knowingly misappropriated funds and now they're trying to cover their tracks. I believe that someone should be held responsible for this debacle. We need to start at the top. Therefore; I feel that Dr. Danny Merck needs to either resign or be removed from his position. Please support PCSD in this troubling time by signing this petition.
