SAVE JFK BLV Somerset, NJ from 200 new homes
Why this petition matters
It is time to save Franklin Township by stopping 200 new homes from being built at the former KMart at Rutgers Plaza located at JFK Blvd and Easton Ave. Traffic is already bad on both roads. The application brazenly even goes so far to state traffic will DECREASE with these 200 new homes when everyone with a brain knows this is beyond reason. There is no need for additional homes in Franklin as there have been many new developments on nearby Hamilton Street... many of which barely have any tenants. It makes no sense to create a logistical nightmare for those of us who already live here.
This new development will eventually require more traffic lights on JFK and potentially adding additional lanes to accommodate the new flood of traffic on already crowded roads. If they add lanes to JFK we will lose our bike path. I personally walk that path every day and I know many other neighbors do too. It is a great place to chat with extended members of the community and exercise.
Who will join me and make our voices heard? Please sign this petition so that we can stop this disaster from happening to our town. I already have to make a right turn then a U-turn in order to make a left turn when existing my development. When will common sense and protection of our current residents prevail? This proposal to ruin JFK will be held on January 6 at 7:30p.m. We need our Mayor Phillip Kramer (Mayor.Kramer@franklinnj.gov) to protect Franklin and stop this insane development plan. Thank you.
