Philippines needs to Develop and Expand Its Labor Force

The Issue

Give Employment Chances for ALL!!

In these times of economic uncertainty, we should know that it is important for everyone to have at least reassurance that many job opportunities are awaiting them. That is why this petition aims to inform those people who have the authority to solve this kind of issue in our country. There are many Filipinos who are unemployed including some graduates and those people who can still work but are not qualified because of the requirements of some companies. According to the Philippines Statistics Authority (PSA), there is a percentage of  66.1% of Filipinos in the labor force participation rate as of August 2022, It was the highest rate reported since January of this year. This only indicates that there are still many people in our country who continue to look for a job and others might be unemployed.

The shortage of employment opportunities in the Philippines, stating that there are insufficient jobs to go around and is frequently reported that it is the reason why many Filipinos are either unemployed or underemployed, resulting in them being unable to meet their necessities. In addition, unemployment reduces a family's disposable income, reduces purchasing ability, weakens employee morale, and reduces an economy's output. Therefore, the government should start considering the development and expansion of the labor force in our country by creating new programs and many more. This will lead to poverty reduction and long-term economic and social growth.
