Due to the threat of this pandemic, many people loss their jobs. Some where unemployed because the company or the business has closed and there are also companies/ business who need to reduce their employees because they cannot pay them anymore. The fact that not all people has a ability to provide for themselves and there family especially now that we are in the midst of the pandemic. There are also people who cannot venture out, especially the people who have weak immune system because they are more prone to catch the virus.

Since then, the unemployment rate in the Philippines were recorded to have a high rate. Thus, because of this pandemic it turns out that it is rapidly increasing as the lock down occur. According to the Household Survey Data, the unemployed person fell by 1.5 million to 11.1 million. In the past few months, some business started to reopen and return. Yet, only half of them has given a chance to return in their work since we need to maintain social distancing and there are also companies who doesn't have enough money to pay for a lot of employee. As a result, many people are afraid that they won't provide for the future expenses and future needs of their family. Worst is there are also people who are quite experiencing poverty because of it. 

We must take action and help the people who are in need. The petition is opting to reach the people who has the position and power to help the unemployed to have benefits or even help them to search for a job, especially that the people who have no fault of their own. Other country is starting to provide Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation for their employees to help them in a small range of time to at least provide for their fundamental way to start anew. This is to help my fellow Filipinos who are worthy to get benefits from the company and given a help from the congress. Why not apply it also here in the Philippines, right?
