Approve Divorce in the Philippines for a chance for a New Beginning

Approve Divorce in the Philippines for a chance for a New Beginning
The Issue
In the Philippines, in order to be approved of annulment, the person filing for divorce must follow the grounds approved for annulment such as proving that his/her spouse is psychologically incapacitated even before marriage, that the marriage was forced upon one or both sides of the party and that one was underage when the marriage occurred etc,. This however, does not hold true to all cases that want to file for annulment, which in some, has more extreme circumstances like infidelity and abuse.
The new divorce bill however, has much wider scope of considerations that makes different cases viable/allowed for divorce. Despite this, the divorce bill still preserves the sanctity of marriage because it contains a rule that the court will provide a six month cooling off period after the filing of a petition during which the court must aim to reunite both parties (attending couple counseling and the likes). For couples who have been separated for much longer however, for reasons including imprisonment or not living together for more than five years, are exempted from this rule. Approving the divorce bill would mean that the law will be able to further protect not only women's rights but the rights of every family member and their right to live and be nurtured in a safe and healthy environment and be surrounded by people who are willing and capable to take care of them and them like a family should.
We stand with every man and woman to have the right to start a new prosperous relationship and end physical and psychological abuse for couples, with the help of divorce. Our goal is to not only spread awareness but to be heard by the people with the capability to make this possible. Our vision is to provide opportunities and second chances to rebuild their lives from having a failed marriage.
