Philadelphia Phillies fans have recently learned that Gregg Murphy, Phillies field reporter and sometimes analyst will no longer be part of the broadcast beginning in 2021. 

A part of the broadcast since 2012, Murph, as he is affectionately referred to by the Phillies faithful, has been a fixture on Phillies broadcasts and around Citizens Bank Park. Anyone who has interacted with Murph knows what a great guy he is, as well as an asset to the organization. He gives a fans point of view to the broadcast and while the game has changed and continues to change with new rules and analytics and the like, Murph makes the game accessible and fun for anyone watching. 

Everyone has to tighten their belts now with COVID and we understand NBC Sports needs to make ends meet as well as anyone. However, Murph adds too much to the broadcast and to subtract his contribution lessons the experience more than any monetary savings could benefit NBC Sports. 

Whether young or old, avid fan or casual supporter, anyone who watched the Phillies game is affected by Gregg Murphy. Please reconsider your decision to remove him from the broadcast and find savings in some other way. Give Murph more opportunities to delight Phillies fans, regardless of what their record may be.
