To Whom it May Concern,

Massage and bodywork therapists in Philadelphia want to be open for business.  Related licensed practices such as physical therapists, chiropractors, and acupuncturists have remained open during the economic shutdown but massage establishments are still shuttered.  Massage and Bodywork Therapists are licensed professionals that are mandated by state law and regulations to maintain safe and sanitary conditions in their workplaces.  It is our belief that state mandated COVID-19 guidelines  for massage and bodywork coupled with our existing state laws and regulations will provide our clients (the public) with adequate  protection from COVID-19.

These are stressful times for more reasons than just COVID-19.  Massage and bodywork therapies not only aid in healing the body from physical ailments but are an essential method of relaxation for some people to combat stress and anxiety without the use of pharmaceuticals, alcohol or recreational drugs.  It is essential that Philadelphia reopen massage and bodywork therapy establishments in Philadelphia; the public's minds and bodies need us!  

This petition is our collective voice requesting reopening massage and body work establishments in Philadelphia on June 26, 2020.
