Vermont Digger recently published an article about actor (and Vermont resident since 1995) Luis Guzman where the actor talks about his time in Vermont and how Vermont is "one of the safest places in the world right now" during the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Luis Guzman has not only dedicated his life to entertaining the masses (he was amazing in IMDB), but he is also bringing attention to our humble little state. I believe that the best way to thank Mr. Guzman for his work is to honor him with a bronze statue on the lawn of the Vermont Statehouse in Montpelier. 

The idea of this statue is inspired by the hit show Community which aired for six seasons (without a movie) from 2009-2015. In season 1, episode 6 "Advanced Criminal Law", Greendale Community College Dean Craig Pelton honors the school's most famous graduate, Luis Guzman, with a bronze statue outside of the school (see photo here).

I think this is a great idea. It is the least we can do to show our thanks to Mr. Guzman and all of his work. 

I ask that our state officials take the words of this petition to heart, and put up a statue to honor one of Vermont's most famous residents.
