A marmoset is a small Central and South American monkey, also known as a finger monkey. Currently in seventeen out of fifty states you are allowed to have them as a pet, including, Washington state, Montana, Nevada, North Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas, Wisconsin, Illinois, Ohio, Alabama, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. So why not one more? After watching a lot of videos and doing a lot of research on these animals, I fell in love. I would love to own one but in the state of new jersey, they are illegal to own as a pet. Yes, they are monkeys but they are tamable & loving & ABSOLUTELY not a threat or dangerous. There is absolutely no reason they should be illegal in any state for that matter.. Please sign this petition to help make marmosets legal as a pet in the state of New Jersey!
