This change of advocating for more programs to help with drug addiction would help our communities because it would lower drug addiction. If there are more resources for addicts to get help they would be more likely to get help. Also if we normalize getting help for addictions people would be less ashamed of their addiction and be more inclined to get help. Drug prevention programs would also help lower the peoples tax dollars because you would be paying less in tax to keep people who are addicts in prison.
