Cancer is not "Your Choice" so change the wording on screening invitations #AtYourCervix

The Issue

"Cancer Isn't Soft, So Why Is This New Approach?"

My article, linked above from my blog 'Life: A Bird's Eye View,' explains exactly why  recent changes to the smear test invitation letter are a major concern, giving women the casual message that cancer screening is optional, and not essential to saving lives. (Similar changes have been made to other screening invitations, including bowel and breast).

I had stage 3 pre-cancerous cells in my early twenties and the subsequent screening and treatment saved my life. I'm convinced the invitation letter has been changed as a cost-cutting measure, rather than any desire to increase uptake (which is in constant decline). Why else would they remove the phone number to call to book a smear test from the letter, and the date of your last test?

Please read my article and I'm sure you'll agree that the the letter needs to change....
