These days, animals are oftentimes found on the sides of a road, looking injured or sick. Animals tend to roam around especially when they are being neglected by their owners. It's hard to believe that some, if not most, of these animals now living in the gutters were once living in a loving household. Due to their nature, these animals tend to reproduce everywhere despite lacking proper nutrition and care. With little to no source of food, these animals are often found scavenging for food in trash piles or taking food from humans. However, the latter often result in humans reacting violently, sometimes causing injuries to these animals.

Pet abandonment has been one of the major issues all over the world, not just in our country. Millions of pets were toyed around, and even killed by many. Sometimes, some people turn a blind eye on animals being neglected. They act like it's none of their business, they don't say anything about it. Not only the people who cause harm to animals should be reported but also the witnesses who choose to remain silent rather than reporting it to the authorities. 

This not only serve as a challenge for animal welfare advocates but also pose a threat to human health due to the possibility of getting infected by rabies and other diseases that can get transferred from animals to humans.

Therefore, this petition aims to be a reminder that animals deserve the right to live fulfilling lives. They are pets, not pests, and should not be discarded once they've ceased to entertain us. They are living beings deserving of care and respect. Pet owners must take full responsibility for the well-being of their animals, making sure that they are cared for throughout their lives. Pets should not be abandoned or neglected once their novelty wears off.
