PETITON REQUESTING THE RESIGNATION OF THE SUPERENTENDENT

 

To Eldred School District,

 

 

We, the undersigned, petition the Eldred Central School District  Board of Education to urgently address the poor performance the superintendent, Traci Ferreira. She is exhibiting poor performance in leading this district. We request that the board addresses this situation and the Superintendent and request that an immediate resignation, take place, as she needs to be held accountable for her negligence. 

 

Recent events have brought to light a serious need for change in our school leadership, particularly following a number of acts of misconduct and negligence.  

Does the board know that a turf field needs to be covered from the elements? The field was finished in the Fall of last year and it has not been covered from the elements. There are numerous piles of deer feces, sink holes and the sun has been allowed to permeate the surface of the turf leaving it looking warn and bleached. 

 

We feel that we also have evidence of misconduct and negligence in the performance of duties. This superintendent unethically allowed a discission that involved splitting a group of 27 baseball players into two teams, varsity and modified. This split fueled by favoritism allowed only 10 modified players and 17 varsity players. This conveniently allowed the varsity team to include a staff member’s child, a 9th grader, still eligible for the modified team and a coach’s child, an 8th grader, also eligible for the modified team. This imbalance leaves our modified program in jeopardy. One athlete injured, sick or other ways unable to play leaves the modified team out of an entire season. This directly effects our feeder program for future ball players. Clearly this is a direct reflection of the continuous disregard of the Eldred School Districts Code of Conduct by the Superintendent. We feel that she is negligent in preforming her duties to assure that the Athletic Coordinator is acting appropriately and preforming her duties. She allowed unethical discissions to be made that directly effects our school. We feel that this Superintendent has exhibited a lack of professionalism and ethical behavior. This can damage the creditability and reputation of our school district. 

Witnessing the decline of our school district as this superintendent is out of touch with the needs of the students and the community. We feel that she is unable to effectively lead the district. She is not prioritizing aspects of student success. 

 

We urge the district board to listen to the voices of our community and the concerns of parents and taxpayers. A meeting must be called to hold a vote regarding Superintendent Traci Ferreira.
