Petition to YouTube: Include Zambia in the YouTube Partner Program for Monetization

The Issue

To: YouTube and Google

We, the undersigned, are petitioning YouTube and Google to include Zambia in the YouTube Partner Program for monetization. As creators, supporters and Talent managers of Zambian content, we believe that this inclusion will significantly benefit both the Zambian creative community and YouTube as a platform.

Reasons for Inclusion:

1. Growing Digital Audience:
Zambia has seen a rapid increase in internet penetration and digital media consumption over the past few years. This growing audience is eager for diverse, local content, which Zambian creators are eager to provide.

2. Support for Local Creators:

Allowing Zambian creators to monetize their content will provide much-needed financial support, enabling them to produce higher-quality videos and sustain their creative endeavors.

3. Cultural Exchange and Diversity:
Including Zambia in the monetization program will enrich YouTube's platform with unique cultural perspectives, music, art, and stories from Zambia. This diversity will enhance the viewing experience for global audiences.

4. Economic Empowerment:   Monetization can be a significant source of income for Zambian creators, contributing to the economic empowerment of individuals and communities. This aligns with YouTube's mission to give everyone a voice and show them the world.

5. Educational Content: Many Zambian creators focus on educational content, including tutorials, academic lessons, and informative videos about local traditions and history. Monetization will incentivize the creation of such valuable content, benefiting learners both locally and internationally.

Our Request:

We respectfully request that YouTube and Google extend the YouTube Partner Program to include Zambia. This step will not only support the Zambian creative community but also contribute to YouTube's mission of fostering a diverse and inclusive platform for creators and viewers worldwide.

We believe that with YouTube's support, Zambian creators can flourish, bringing unique and engaging content to a global audience. We urge YouTube to take this important step towards inclusivity and support for emerging digital markets.

Thank you for considering our petition.

Sincerely,

Peter Mwape (Uncle P ) Talent manager
