The Issue

On May 13th, 2025, Gun Interactive announced that The Texas Chain Saw Massacre video game would no longer receive future updates following the release of its May patch. Additionally, the game will transition to a peer-to-peer (P2P) connection model, meaning that while online functionality will remain, dedicated server support and ongoing content development will cease.

This news has been deeply disappointing to the community of dedicated players who have supported the game since its launch. As fans of the franchise and the game, we believe that The Texas Chain Saw Massacre still holds tremendous potential. Its unique asymmetrical horror gameplay, strong art direction, and faithful adaptation of the iconic 1974 film set it apart in the genre.

Why We Are Petitioning:

Preserve and grow the game’s potential: With the right team and continued development, the game could thrive for years to come—expanding its player base and increasing its value.
Address ongoing technical and gameplay issues: Many bugs, balance concerns, and progression problems remain unresolved. These require active developer support to maintain player satisfaction.
Honor the community’s investment: Players have spent time and money supporting this game, expecting long-term commitment. Ending updates so soon after launch feels like a broken promise.

What We Are Requesting:

We respectfully urge Gun Interactive to consider transferring the development and publishing rights of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre to a capable studio willing to continue its support. This would allow the game to evolve and live up to the expectations of its passionate community.

Our Goal:

To gather enough signatures to show Gun Interactive and potential interested parties that there is strong, ongoing demand for this game to continue under new leadership. We believe The Texas Chain Saw Massacre deserves a second chance.
