Subject: Urgent Action to Restore UK Sovereignty Over Immigration Policy and End Illegal Boat Crossings

We, the undersigned, call upon the UK Government to take immediate and decisive action to withdraw from the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) and implement robust measures to stop the illegal entry of migrants into the United Kingdom.

1. Reasserting UK Sovereignty Over Immigration Laws

The UK must have full and uncontested control over its borders. The continued jurisdiction of the ECHR undermines the authority of Parliament and the democratic will of the British people. Decisions by the Strasbourg Court have repeatedly obstructed efforts to remove illegal migrants and have prevented the implementation of policies designed to secure our borders. No foreign court should have the power to override the sovereign decisions of the UK Government on matters of national security and immigration.

2. The ECHR’s Failure to Protect UK Interests

Despite the UK’s withdrawal from the European Union, the ECHR continues to exert undue influence over our legal system, particularly on immigration matters. The Court has consistently ruled against legitimate and necessary measures designed to deter illegal migration, including deportation flights to safe third countries. This interference prevents the UK from taking essential action to safeguard its borders, uphold the rule of law, and protect public resources from unsustainable pressures.

3. The Immediate Necessity to Halt Illegal Boat Crossings

The ongoing crisis in the English Channel represents a direct threat to national security, the integrity of the asylum system, and public confidence in immigration control. The vast majority of those arriving illegally via small boats are not genuine refugees but economic migrants exploiting weaknesses in UK law. Many have destroyed identification documents upon arrival, making it impossible to verify their claims. This situation cannot continue. The UK must take urgent steps to stop these crossings through legislative and operational measures, including the deployment of maritime enforcement and expedited deportations.

4. The Swift Removal of Illegal Migrants

Illegal entry into the UK should not be rewarded with indefinite residence. The Government must immediately enact and enforce a policy of swift removal for all illegal migrants, either to their country of origin or to a safe third country willing to process their claims. This is a legal and moral necessity to deter further illegal crossings, restore public confidence in immigration controls, and ensure that the UK’s asylum system is reserved for those genuinely in need of protection. The British people must not bear the burden of supporting individuals who have deliberately broken the law to enter the country.

5. Prioritizing the Interests and Security of British Citizens

The UK Government’s primary duty is to its own citizens. The current failure to control illegal immigration places undue pressure on public services, housing, and law enforcement, disproportionately affecting law-abiding British taxpayers. The electorate has consistently expressed a clear mandate for stronger border control, and the Government must act accordingly. This issue is not just about migration but about national security, economic sustainability, and public trust in governance.

Conclusion: The Time for Action is Now

We, the undersigned, demand that the UK Government take the following immediate steps:

 1. Announce a formal withdrawal from the European Court of Human Rights to restore full sovereignty over UK immigration policy.

 2. Implement strict and enforceable measures to prevent illegal boat crossings, including enhanced border security operations.

 3. Ensure the swift and mandatory deportation of all illegal migrants to their country of origin or a safe third country.

 4. Pass and enforce new legislation ensuring that the rights and security of British citizens take precedence over external judicial influence.

Failure to act decisively on this matter constitutes a dereliction of duty to the British people. The UK Government has both the legal and moral obligation to uphold the sovereignty, security, and stability of this nation. We urge Parliament to act immediately.

This petition represents the voice of the British people demanding action. The time for delay has passed—secure our borders, restore national sovereignty, and uphold the rule of law.
