Petition to the Manitoba Government on Behalf of the Esthetics Industry

Petition to the Manitoba Government on Behalf of the Esthetics Industry
The Issue
We, the undersigned, representing the esthetics industry, including workers, educational institutions, and distribution companies, hereby submit this petition to address several pressing issues affecting our community.
1. **Enforcement of 2023 Provincial Occupational Standards:** We urge the government to ensure strict enforcement of the 2023 provincial occupational standards to safeguard the well-being and professionalism of our industry.
2. **Credibility and Consistency in Education:** There is a need for credibility and consistency between private and public educational institutions within the esthetics field. We call for measures to standardize and regulate the quality of education provided by all institutions.
3. **Proper Instruction and Practical Application:** Educational institutions must provide proper instruction and opportunities for practical application of theoretical content. It is imperative that students complete their dedicated hours for each course according to government-mandated outlines to ensure competency.
4. **Accessibility of Courses:** We advocate for the introduction of evening and weekend courses to provide more options for individuals seeking provincial certification, thereby promoting inclusivity and accessibility within the industry.
5. **Qualified Instructors:** Institutions must ensure that their instructors meet standard requirements to be qualified educators. This ensures the delivery of high-quality education and training to students.
6. **Recognition of Certification and Education:** Acknowledgment within the esthetics community regarding the importance of certification and education for the health and safety of our province is paramount. This includes recognition by esthetics distribution, education, and supply businesses that provide certificate courses promising exemption permit eligibility.
We, as representatives of the esthetics industry, are committed to working alongside Apprenticeship Manitoba to bring about meaningful change that supports all facets of our large industry and the communities it affects.
We invite members of the public to show their support for these initiatives by adding their signature below. This is our call to action.
Thank you for your attention to these critical matters.
