Dear Community Members,
We did it—500+ signatures! Thank you all for your support and dedication. This shows just how many residents oppose the rezoning of Z-2969 and refuse to let heavy industry move into the heart of our neighborhoods.
Even better, two City Councilors have responded, which is very encouraging. But we need to keep up the momentum. The fight isn’t over yet!
Next Critical Step: Send Comments to the APC by 3/11/2025
Signing the petition is great, but APC requires individual comments to be submitted by email or in person for them to review and consider. If we don’t fight now, we will have to live next to a heavy industrial zone.
• Email comments to: apc@tippecanoe.in.gov, CityCouncil@westlafayette.in.gov
• Deliver in-person to:

Subject: Public Comment – Opposing Rezoning Z-2969 (R1 to I3)
Dear APC Members,
I strongly oppose Rezoning Case Z-2969, the northeast corner of Kalberer Road and Yeager Road from R1 (Residential) to I3 (Heavy Industrial). This location is surrounded by established neighborhoods, a senior living community, a nursing home, Cumberland Park, the West Lafayette Community Center, and more.
This rezoning would bring heavy industry, air, water and noise pollution, increased truck traffic, and lower property values—directly harming residents and making our community less livable. West Lafayette already has appropriately zoned industrial areas, such as along US 231, where such development would not disrupt residential life.
I urge the APC to reject this rezoning request, redirect the industry development to more appropriately zoned area and keep heavy industry out of the heart of our neighborhoods.
Best regards,
