Dear Community Members,
Thank you for taking a stand against the industrial rezoning near our neighborhoods! In just one day, we’ve gathered 311signatures, demonstrating the strength of our community’s voice.
Petition Update & Outreach
Today, we have officially submitted an intermediate petition update to:
West Lafayette Mayor Erin Easter
City Council Members, including all At-Large Representatives
The Area Plan Commission (APC), which plays a key role in zoning decisions
We will continue to follow up with decision-makers as the public hearing on March 19, 2025, approaches.
Goal: Reach 500+ Signatures!
The more signatures we collect, the stronger our case. We are now aiming for 500-1,000 signatures before our final petition submission.
Why does a higher number matter?
Increased Influence: A larger petition makes it harder for decision-makers to overlook our concerns.
Broader Representation: Demonstrates widespread community opposition beyond just a few neighborhoods.
Media Attention: Reaching 1,000+ signatures could attract media coverage, amplifying our message.
Attached to this email is a poster created by a few dedicated community members, featuring the main message and a QR code linking to the petition.
How You Can Help:
Share with Friends, Family, and Neighbors: Via text, email, or social media.
Distribute to Local Businesses & Community Centers: Such as coffee shops, libraries, gyms, and parks
Inform HOA & Neighborhood Groups: Post in group chats or forums.
Post on Bulletin Boards: In workplaces, schools, and public spaces.
Every share helps amplify our message and brings us closer to preventing heavy industry from being placed near our homes, parks, and schools.
