Petition to South Walton Mosquito Control Commissioners

Petition to South Walton Mosquito Control Commissioners
The Issue
April, 2026
We, the undersigned tax-paying citizens of Walton County, respectfully submit this petition regarding the unlawful intrusion of MC-39 (mosquito control ditch) onto private property. As property owners and residents, we expect our rights to be upheld—not overlooked.
The existence of even one instance where a government project has encroached on private land without proper authorization is unacceptable. It raises serious concerns for every citizen who values private property rights and the responsible use of taxpayer dollars.
South Walton Mosquito Control exists to serve the public—not to disregard the very people who fund it. Commissioners are elected officials, and the salaries and operations of this department are paid by us, the taxpayers. With that comes a duty to act with integrity, transparency, and respect for private property.
We are calling for a prompt, fair, and common-sense resolution to the MC-39 issue. This situation should be corrected immediately, without forcing citizens into unnecessary legal action. Litigation should never be the default when simple accountability and cooperation can resolve the problem.
We also call for an end to any “good old boy” practices that undermine public trust.
Walton County deserves better. Every property owner deserves to know their land will be respected.
Fix MC-39. Do what is right. Serve the people.
Respectfully,
The Undersigned Citizens of Walton County
