Petition to Review TikTok's Video Blocking Criteria
Le problème
To the TikTok Team,
We, the undersigned, TikTok users, express our deep concern regarding the current policy of blocking videos on the platform. Many creators, including myself, have noticed that their videos are systematically blocked or deemed "ineligible for recommendation" without clear or explicit reasons.
Issue:
TikTok is a creative platform that allows millions of people to express themselves freely through videos. However, we have observed that some content is unjustly restricted or removed, thus affecting user engagement and community growth. These blockages, sometimes perceived as arbitrary, hinder creativity and the user experience on the platform.
Our Requests:
1. Increased Transparency: We request that TikTok provides detailed and specific explanations for each video block, so creators can clearly understand the reasons behind these restrictions.
2. Review of Moderation Algorithms: We call for a review of the criteria used by algorithms to detect risky content, to reduce the number of false positives and unjustified blocks.
3. Improvement of the Appeal Process: We wish for the appeal process to be simplified and expedited, allowing creators to easily and effectively challenge blocking decisions.
4. Dialogue with the Community: We suggest that TikTok holds regular consultations with creators to discuss moderation policies and their impact on the user experience.
Why This is Important:
Freedom of expression and creativity are at the heart of what makes TikTok unique. Limiting these fundamental elements without clear justification not only harms creators but also reduces the platform's appeal to all users. We believe that more transparent rules and an open dialogue between TikTok and its community will help create a fairer and more welcoming environment for everyone.
We hope that TikTok will take these concerns into account and work with its community to improve these essential aspects of the platform.
