We, the undersigned members of the Ringwood community, stand united in calling for an immediate revision of the current school funding formula, which has unfairly penalized our district and jeopardized the quality of education for our children.

Over the past five years, the Ringwood School District has lost nearly $1.5 million in state aid. These devastating cuts have forced our schools to make difficult decisions that directly impact the education, support, and opportunities we can provide for our students. Critical programs have been reduced, and personnel losses have strained our ability to meet the needs of every child.

The current funding formula does not account for the unique challenges faced by districts like Ringwood. This inequity places an undue financial burden on our local taxpayers while depriving our schools of the resources necessary to deliver the high-quality education our children deserve.

We believe that every child, regardless of where they live, is entitled to an equitable and adequately funded education. The current funding model fails to meet this basic standard, and the consequences for our students—and our community—are unacceptable.

We urge our state leaders to:
