The Issue

To the Marion County Highway Department, Marion County Commissioners, and County Leadership:

We, the undersigned residents, property owners, taxpayers, and visitors of Marion County, respectfully request that Mullins Cove Road be prioritized for immediate repair and repaving.

For years, Mullins Cove Road has deteriorated significantly and is riddled with potholes, uneven pavement, and damaged sections that create hazardous driving conditions. The condition of the road poses a risk to public safety, increases vehicle maintenance costs, and negatively impacts residents, school transportation, emergency services,  and visitors traveling through the area.

The current state of Mullins Cove Road has resulted in:

  • Damage to vehicles, including tires, wheels, suspension systems, and alignments.
  • Safety concerns for drivers, cyclists, motorcyclists, and pedestrians.
  • Increased difficulty for emergency vehicles responding to calls.
  • Reduced quality of life for residents who rely on the road daily.
  • A negative impression of our community for visitors and prospective property owners

We respectfully request that Marion County:

  • Conduct an immediate assessment of Mullins Cove Road.
  • Repair the most hazardous potholes and damaged sections as soon as possible and pave the areas that have not been paved recently.
  • Provide residents with a timeline for planned repairs and long-term maintenance.
  • Residents and taxpayers deserve safe, reliable roads. We ask county officials to make the repair and repaving of Mullins Cove Road a priority.

Thank you for your attention to this matter and your service to Marion County.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned Residents, Property Owners, Taxpayers, and Community Supporters
