We, the undersigned, call for the immediate removal of Karen B. Decker from her position within the U.S. State Department.

Karen B. Decker’s approach to foreign policy, particularly her reliance on the Taliban for intelligence on possible terrorist threats, is deeply concerning. The Taliban is a recognized terrorist organization responsible for human rights abuses, repression of women, and harboring extremists. Entrusting them with intelligence responsibilities undermines American national security and the sacrifices made by service members who fought against them.

 By engaging with the Taliban in such a capacity, Decker’s actions:

Legitimize a terrorist organization that has a long history of violence against civilians, U.S. allies, and American interests.

Jeopardize U.S. national security by trusting intelligence from a group known for deceit and manipulation.

Disrespect the sacrifices of U.S. service members and allies who fought against the Taliban’s oppressive rule.

We believe that U.S. foreign policy should be handled by officials who prioritize American security and uphold our nation’s values, rather than collaborating with hostile entities. We urge the administration to remove Karen B. Decker from her position immediately and ensure that U.S. diplomatic efforts remain aligned with the interests of the American people.
