Petition to Remove Frank Valentini as Executive Producer of General Hospital

The Issue

We, the undersigned fans of General Hospital, express our deep concern regarding the current state of the show under the leadership of Frank Valentini. We believe that his decisions have negatively impacted the show’s quality and have alienated loyal viewers. Here are our reasons for requesting his removal:

Lack of Respect for Fans:

Valentini’s disregard for fan feedback and desires is evident in the way storylines are handled. Characters are often written inconsistently, and fan-favorite pairings are ignored or disrupted without consideration for viewer preferences. And some characters are given more airtime then others. Even after complaints from fans.

Storyline Mismanagement:

The abrupt exits of beloved characters, such as Roger Howarth’s recent departure as Austin Gatlin-Holt demonstrate poor planning and lack of respect for the show’s fans.
Valentini’s decision to kill off characters without proper development or resolution disrupts the show’s continuity and frustrates fans.

Failure to Utilize Talent:

Valentini’s tenure has seen talented actors underutilized or misused. Characters with rich potential are sidelined, while new characters are introduced haphazardly.
The revolving door of recasts and character changes has left viewers disconnected from the show’s core.

Inconsistent Writing:

Storylines often lack coherence and logical progression. Character motivations shift abruptly, leaving viewers confused.
Valentini’s focus on shock value over character-driven storytelling undermines the show’s legacy.

Communication Gap:

Fans deserve transparency and open communication from the show’s leadership. Valentini’s lack of engagement with the audience fosters frustration and disappointment.

We, the fans, demand change. We believe that General Hospital deserves an executive producer who respects its rich history, values viewer input, and prioritizes consistent storytelling. We urge ABC to consider the impact of Valentini’s decisions on the show’s legacy and take action to restore it to its former glory.
