For too long, public harassment of women has been prevalent in our society and our country Nigeria, with very little being done or enforced at the legislative level to sheild women from feeling unsafe even in their immediate locality.  

This petition was inspired by the Change O clock' episode on Cat-calling and just reading comments under the post from women who have pass through such ordeals has further strengthened my conviction that just because it's a norm does not make it right!

Drastic and timely action needs to be taken at the upper echelons of government such that verbal assault against women especially in form of Cat-calling is seen as just as severe as any other form of woman rights violation.
