Petition to the Connersville Community and Fayette County School Corporation
Student Safety Should Always Come First
We, the undersigned parents, students, alumni, and community members, respectfully ask the Fayette County School Corporation and Connersville High School administration to reconsider allowing a former teacher to serve as an assistant varsity football coach.

Many families have expressed concerns regarding this individual's interactions with students while employed as a teacher. Some parents have reported experiencing or witnessing conduct they believe was inappropriate and inconsistent with the standards expected of someone working with children. These concerns have led many in our community to question whether this individual should continue serving in a position of authority over our student-athletes.

As the parent of a student directly involved in one of these incidents, I believe my child was treated in a manner that no student should experience. That experience has prompted me to ask our community to join together in requesting that school leadership place student safety and well-being above all else.

This petition is not intended to determine anyone's guilt or innocence or to attack anyone personally. Instead, it asks school leaders to carefully consider whether someone whose conduct has raised significant concerns among parents and students should continue serving as a coach and mentor to our children.

Our coaches should model:

Respect for every student.
Professionalism under pressure.
Emotional self-control.
Positive leadership.
Safe and appropriate interactions with young people.
Our student-athletes deserve adults who build them up, earn their trust, and represent the values of our community.

We respectfully ask the Fayette County School Corporation, the Superintendent, the Athletic Director, and the Connersville High School administration to:

Reevaluate this coaching appointment.
Consider the concerns raised by students and parents before making a final decision.
Prioritize the physical and emotional safety of every student-athlete.
Ensure that all coaches meet the highest standards of professionalism and conduct.
Consider qualified coaching candidates who have earned the trust and confidence of our local community.
This petition is submitted out of concern for the well-being of our children and the future of Connersville athletics. We ask school leadership to listen to the voices of parents, students, and community members and make a decision that reflects the values of safety, respect, and accountability.
