Petition to Keep Mr. Bryce Davis at West Orange High School

We, the students of West Orange High School, are asking OCPS and our school administration to keep Mr. Bryce Davis as a teacher at our school.

Mr. Davis has proven over the last two years that he is exactly the kind of teacher students need. In 2023–2024 he stepped in and taught science all year as a substitute. He kept us on track, pushed us to think harder, and never let us feel like we were “just” in a sub’s class. In 2024–2025 he became an art teacher and once again he showed the same commitment, encouragement, and high standards.

This year, since classes began on August 11, 2025, Mr. Davis has been placed in an empty classroom with no official role for almost two weeks. This is unfair to him and unfair to us. He has already proven that he cares about his students and knows how to challenge us. Instead of leaving him without classes, the school should recognize the value he brings and make sure he is teaching.

Last year Mr. Davis even started a petition of his own, not for himself but for us. When he saw the excitement for the new Digital Art and Animation class, he worked to get iPads and equipment so students could have a real chance to learn and create at a higher level. He went out of his way to contact companies, push for funding, and make sure students had access to tools most public schools cannot provide. That shows the kind of teacher he is, someone who will fight for his students and never settle for less than the best. If he was willing to stand up for us, we believe it is only right that our school stands up for him.

We are proud of our school and we want the best teachers to stay. Mr. Davis is one of those teachers. Please do not let his talent go to waste. Give him the classes he deserves so he can continue to make a difference in our education.
