Thanks to everyone who has supported the petition so far. This is to say that - some of you may know that Nibiru is featuring on many mainstream news sites again, And this time, thank goodness one paper, the Independent, has run a straight hoax debunking story on it. It's called: "‘Blood moon’ and ‘rogue planet Nibiru’ are on their way to kill us all, conspiracy theorists wrongly claim" Kudos to them. Hurrah! It's the first Nibiru debunking article I've seen in the mainstream newspapers in the last year (since I started writing these articles). And their article is top of the news search for "Nibiru" which shows that debunking articles actually can be popular as well. I have just written about that on my science20 blog. If you do a web search for Nibiru right now in the States, then that comes first, and my article saying "Kudos to the Independent" is second I hope this is a start of a new trend. We've also reached 50 signatures. I know many petitions reach many thousands of signatures, but still, that's 50 people who have given it some thought and decided to sign the petition. And just got a notification from Change.org, only 15% of petitions get this far. Thanks again everyone. BTW I was asked, what happens when the petition reaches 100 supporters Well nothing much, that's just Change.org, they will then change the target and show the percentage to the new target. I'm doing this mainly to raise awareness. Just having the petition out here for people to sign I think helps already. Do say though if anyone has a good suggestion of someone to send it to.
