We, the undersigned, call upon the local highway authority to investigate and develop an improved traffic management scheme for Gorelands Lane and Deadhearn Lane.

Residents, road users, and pedestrians have experienced increasing problems with traffic congestion, excessive vehicle speeds, dangerous driving, and difficulties accessing and exiting properties along these roads. These issues not only cause delays but also create significant safety concerns for those who live, work, and travel through the area.

We ask the Council to carry out a comprehensive assessment of current traffic conditions, including traffic volumes, vehicle speeds, congestion, road safety, and the impact on local residents. Following this assessment, we request that the Council consult with the community and consider appropriate traffic management measures to improve safety and traffic flow.

Potential measures could include, but are not limited to:

• Changes to traffic priorities or road layouts.
• One-way or controlled traffic systems where appropriate.
• Traffic-calming measures.
• Speed reduction initiatives and enforcement.
• Improvements to junctions, signage, and road markings.

Our aim is to create a safer, more efficient road network that reduces congestion, discourages dangerous driving, and improves the quality of life for everyone who uses Gorelands Lane and Deadhearn Lane.

We respectfully urge the Council to prioritise this investigation and work with local residents to identify the most effective long-term solution.
