PETITION UPDATE — AFTER TONIGHT’S GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING

SEA members showed up tonight. It was good to meet many of you in person and to hear directly from colleagues across the district.

And something interesting happened: as the meeting went on—and as President Idowu spoke—the petition continued gaining signatures! 🤣😂

Members are listening. Members are asking questions. And many clearly remain unconvinced by the current leadership.

Tonight’s strike-authorization vote was about our contract and our collective power as educators. The recall petition is a separate question of governance, accountability, and whether members have confidence in the person occupying the presidency.

Thank you to everyone who has signed, shared, asked questions, and encouraged colleagues to become informed.

The petition continues. Keep signing. Keep sharing. Keep asking questions.
