Petition updatePetition to initiate RECALL of SEA President Ibijoke Idowu-Holiday

THE RECALL PETITION HAS OFFICIALLY BEEN SUBMITTED — AND SEA HAS CONFIRMED RECEIPT

SEA MembersSeattle, WA, United States
Aug 24, 2026

Today, we formally submitted the SEA Member-Initiated Presidential Recall Petition electronically to SEA Transitional Executive Director Greg Alarid pursuant to SEA Bylaw 3.5.1(b).

Greg Alarid has confirmed receipt of our submission.

That matters. Under SEA Bylaw 3.5.1(b), the general membership may request a recall election through a petition containing signatures from 10% of SEA’s bona fide active members. Bylaw 3.5.2 provides that a general membership meeting for the recall election will be scheduled within 60 calendar days after receipt of the membership’s recall petition.

For an additional documented record of delivery, we are also sending the petition packet by certified mail to:

Seattle Education Association
5501 4th Avenue South, Suite 101
Seattle, WA 98108

We are maintaining our members’ individual signature attestations separately and confidentially while we pursue an appropriate process for membership and threshold verification.

BUT WE ARE NOT DONE. KEEP SIGNING!

The petition remains open, and we are continuing to collect signatures. SEA members throughout Seattle Public Schools still do not know this recall effort exists.

If you have already signed, please send the petition directly to another SEA colleague today. If you are a current SEA member, please also complete the confidential Signature Attestation.

Every additional eligible member strengthens this effort and demonstrates that SEA members expect our union’s democratic processes to be respected.

SIGN. ATTEST. SHARE. ORGANIZE.

THE PETITION HAS BEEN SUBMITTED. SEA HAS CONFIRMED RECEIPT. NOW LET THE MEMBERS VOTE.
