The Issue

We, the undersigned, call on Home Group to take urgent action to address the pigeon infestation at Prioress House, Barking.

For far too long, many residents have been unable to enjoy or use their balconies due to excessive pigeon droppings and ongoing health and hygiene concerns. The situation has created an unacceptable living environment, limiting residents' access to fresh air, private outdoor space, and dignity in their homes.

Pigeon excrement is not just unsightly and unpleasant—it poses genuine health risks, attracts vermin, and damages property. Despite repeated complaints and raising the issue through appropriate channels, no effective or sustained measures have been taken to resolve the problem.

We demand that Home Group:
Commission an urgent assessment of the pigeon problem at Prioress House.
Implement humane and effective deterrent measures (e.g., netting, spikes, balcony-proofing, or professional pest control).
Regularly clean and maintain all affected communal and balcony areas until the issue is resolved.
Communicate clearly with residents about the timeline and actions being taken.
We ask Home Group to recognise its responsibility to maintain safe, usable, and sanitary homes for its residents. This is not a cosmetic issue—it’s about health, respect, and quality of life.

Please sign and share this petition to help us reclaim our balconies and demand the action we deserve.
