The Issue

I’ve lived in Union County my whole life. From Rahway, Linden, Cranford, and Garwood. I love it here, and if you live here as well, you know what a great place it is that still has community, integrity, and endless perks. 143 new jobs for permanent  environmental damage, extreme overconsumption of water, industrialization, and corruption is not worth it. NJ is giving a 250 million dollar tax credit to this 1.8 billion dollar facility. Finances aside, we have to protect our state. Becoming an “AI HUB” does not benefit the average person that lives here. With the internal investment corruption this county already faces with new property developments, this addition in corruption does not aid our community. This plant will be using the same amount of energy it takes to power 200,000 homes. We need to stand up to those making these decisions without our voices in mind. And mostly, we need to protect our living conditions not only for us, but generations to come. In the years to come, we should be able to have our children’s children raise their families here, and with these type of issues that will consistently happen without speaking out, that ability will be lost. if an almost 400,000 square foot plant that steal our energy, water, and land sounds alarming to you as well, sign below.
