We, the undersigned, request that the School Board of the Piedmont Unified School District elect to fly the Progress Pride flag throughout the year. The Progress Pride flag is not just for pride. The point of the flag is to allow our LGBTQ+ students and staff to feel that they are entering a welcoming space. It tells all of our gay and gender expansive community members: “You belong here.” The queer community is queer all year round, not just in June. Make the right choice. Fly the flag from January 1 to December 31.
