We, the undersigned, call on the State of Michigan to:

X Adopt the Survivor Model, which:

- Decriminalizes those who are prostituted and trafficked

- Provides support for those exiting trafficking

- Holds accountable those who buy and sell humans for sex or forced labor

X Reject full decriminalization or legalization of commercial sex, because:

- Legalizing sex markets increases demand for prostitution*

- More demand leads to more trafficking and exploitation of vulnerable people*

- Penalties for buyers and traffickers help reduce demand and exploitation*

- Exploited individuals should not be criminalized, but buyers and traffickers must be held accountable
