Petition to Establish “Charlie Kirk Day” as a Federal Holiday
The Issue
We, the undersigned citizens of the United States, respectfully call upon Congress and the President of the United States to officially designate September 10th as Charlie Kirk Day, a federal holiday honoring the life, work, and legacy of Charlie Kirk.
Charlie Kirk was a prominent political commentator, activist, and founder of Turning Point USA. He dedicated his life to promoting civic engagement, free speech, and constitutional principles, particularly to younger people. Through his passion, he inspired millions reconsider the way they think, to refine their own views, and to become more active in shaping the future of the nation.
Charlie Kirk was assassinated on September 10, 2025, while exercising his constitutional right to free expression at a public speaking event. His assassination was a tragic reminder of the risks faced by individuals who engage in open political dialogue in a polarized society.
We propose:
That September 10th be recognized as Charlie Kirk Day, a day to promote free speech, civic engagement, peaceful political discourse, and the protection of First Amendment rights.
That this date be declared a federal holiday, observed nationwide and recognized by all federal institutions.
We believe that Charlie Kirk’s legacy represents not just a political ideology, but a broader commitment to the rights and responsibilities of all American citizens to participate in the democratic process.
Sign this petition to urge Congress to pass legislation establishing Charlie Kirk Day as a federal holiday.
