Subject: Petition for Designation and Fencing of a Fenced Pet-Friendly Dog Park Area at Dore Kere Ground Annexe, BHCS Layout.
Dear Sir/Madam,
We, the undersigned residents, pet owners, and community members of BHCS Layout, Uttarahalli, and surrounding neighborhoods in Bengaluru South, write to request the allocation of a portion of the Dore Kere Ground Annexe as a dedicated, fenced dog park.
While Dore Kere Lake and its surrounding trails are popular for morning walkers, there is currently no designated, enclosed zone where companion dogs can socialize and exercise safely off-leash. Creating a dedicated pet zone within the Ground Annexe will provide significant public benefits: [1, 2]
Reduced Conflict: Keeping off-leash pets inside a dedicated, fenced area separates them from joggers, children, and senior citizens using the main Dore Kere tracks, eliminating common public park friction. [1, 2]
Promoting Civic Cleanliness: The park will include designated "dog waste pits" to encourage waste collection, ensuring the rest of the BHCS Layout and lake surroundings stay clean. [1, 2]
Animal Welfare Compliance: A structured dog park supports a healthier environment for pet socialization, reducing behavioral issues like excessive barking in nearby apartments. [1]

Proposed Citizen-Led Management Guidelines:
Strict Entry Rules: Only fully vaccinated, registered, and non-aggressive pet dogs will be allowed entry. [1]
Maintenance & Cleanup: Local residents and pet owners will organize community cleanups and fund the garbage disposal bins inside the enclosure. [1]
Fencing Infrastructure: We request the GBA to grant basic space approval and assist with secure perimeter fencing to keep the dogs contained safely. [1]
